In order to contribute to the achievement of food and nutritional self-sufficiency in the whole of Burkina Faso, the Burkinabe Government initiated the hydro-agricultural Project of Bagre, which aims in the long run, the development of 300,000 ha of tillable lands. The study for the development of 2,100 ha falls is in keeping with that purpose and consists of the implementation of basic studies (topography, geotechnics, soil science, agronomy, economic and financial evaluation, and socio-economy). The study also falls into the context of designing the development of the perimeter while taking into account the orientations followed as regards agricultural development, the elaboration of the hydro-agricultural master development plan, as well as hydraulic alternatives of plans, the evaluation of additional infrastructures (various tracks, villages, watersheds and buildings) and the updating of the Project costs; in particular the comparative analysis of various alternatives suggested.
